Visit One of Museum in Ubud (Arma Museum)
ARMA or Agung Rai Museum of Art was opened to the public for the first time on June 09, 1996. The founder is Balinese man named Agung Rai. In this magnificent museum we are exhibited the private art collections made by Balinese, Javanese, as well as foreign artists. Nestled in the heart of Ubud, this place encompasses two main buildings where such adorable paintings made by Raden Saleh, Affandi, and Sadali are exhibited. When you finish glancing to the paintings section, don’t miss to unwind in the cafes or looking for reasonably-priced books at the bookstore in the museum.Monkey Forest Include Pura Dalem Inside Monkey Forest Area
One of Ubud’s uniqueness and points of interest is the Monkey Forest. As the main attraction in this site, you will meet the groups of monkeys within the forest are not too naughty and harmful; however you are advised not to wear sunglasses as they sometime steal the visitors’ sunglasses. When you have reached the end of the main road in the forest, you will capture the big sacred monkey forest sanctuary in which almost 200 monkeys are prohibited. Inside the forest, there is also the largest holy and revered temple named the Pura Dalem Agung. Mas Village is located about 15 km in the midway between Denpasar and Ubud with its popularity as the center of wood carving creations, craftsmanship, statues, etc. Each piece of wood carving made by expert carvers and sculpturers reflects and exudes the harmonic fusion between nature and human. The tour members will love purchasing some items of souvenirs, both big and small. Apart from Mas Village, Celuk Village is also worth checking out. The area is tranquilly nestled 5 km away from Denpasar city, playing a role as home for both goldsmiths and silversmiths. Here, you will be spoilt for choices for women jewelries and accessories such as rings, bangles, chokers, earrings, mother of pearls, and brooches.
Batubulan (Stone Carving)
Batubulan is an agricultural village which gains fame for its arts activities including stone carving and Balinese dancing. The area is part of Sukawati district, Gianyar regency only approximately 10 kilometers away from Denpasar city. All stone carvers from Batubulan are experts and skillful in creating such artistic and adorable items that are mostly displayed in the houses, temples, resorts, hotels, or villas in Bali. When you enter Batubulan village, you will take a glance at the welcome stone building as the hallmark of Batubulan as the center of stone carving in Bali.
